UGC NET Home Science: About Your Mentor
Dr. Garima Gupta (February 10, 1986, in Kanpur, U.P) is an academician, researcher, and writer. She did her B.Sc. Honors in Home Science (2007) from C.S.A. Agriculture University Kanpur, U.P. She then moved to Mumbai and finished M.Sc. (2009) and later Ph.D (2020) in Extension Education from S.N.D.T Women’s University, Mumbai. She started her career as a research assistant in 2008 under Dr. Kasturi Ray in the same University. The study was about “Effect of tea on metabolic syndrome”. She worked as visiting faculty and taught UG and PG Home Science at S.N.D.T Women’s University, Mumbai (2012 – 2017). She also worked as a research assistant in a major research project (2012-2015) at SVT College of Home Science (Autonomous). The project was about” Industry institute linkages of home Science”. In 2015 she cleared UGC NET in Home Science and enrolled in Ph.D. at the Department of Extension Education, S.N.D.T Women’s University, Mumbai which was awarded in 2020. Currently, she is working as Assistant Professor- Guest in Government College for Women, Trivandrum, Kerala. She has been writing chapters for various academic books and e-modules for E-PG Pathshala and SWAYAM. She is a member of the International Association for Media and Communication Research, Nutrition Society of India, Home Science Association of India, and Council of Home Science Extension. She has been actively published and presented her research work in various national and international platforms.
